Victim Family Support Advocates:  Ralston House utilizes volunteers to sit and entertain the children before their interview.  The process to become an advocate is a lengthy process due to the highly confidential nature of the work we do. It requires filling out a personal history questionnaire, an interview, background check, reference checks, and an integrity interview by a member of the Arvada Police Department.

 

Bilingual skills are strongly preferred though not required.

• Full year commitment

• Must be 21 years or older to participate

• Work well with members of the community and law enforcement

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential material in a professional manner

• Expectation to assist at all three locations in Arvada, Lakewood, and Northglenn

• M-F daytime hours (12 hours per month minimum)

Automatic disqualification for this position includes any history of abuse towards children and any drug use in the past 5 years (including marijuana use- legal or not- in the past 12 months as our organization receives some federal funding).
